Neck Pain Doesn't Stay in Your Neck — It Takes Over Your Entire Day

It takes over your work, your sleep, your mood, and your ability to function.

You wake up with a headache most mornings — and painkillers barely touch it

You can't concentrate at your desk because the pain and stiffness are constant

Driving is uncomfortable — checking mirrors and reversing causes sharp pain

Tingling or numbness in your arm, hand, or fingers is getting more frequent

You can't find a comfortable sleeping position — and it's wrecking your energy

Your GP says it's 'just muscular' but nothing they've suggested has worked

You've had massages, heat packs, and stretches — relief lasts hours, not days

You're worried it's getting worse — the tingling is spreading to your fingers

Neck pain that persists is almost always a structural problem.

Massage and stretching won't fix a disc problem, nerve compression, or facet joint dysfunction. You need a proper diagnosis.

Neck & Nerve Conditions We Treat

Pain in the neck and nerve symptoms can come from many sources. We identify exactly which one is causing yours.

    Cervical Disc Injury

Disc bulges or herniations in the neck causing pain, stiffness, and nerve compression into the arm and hand. IDD Therapy available.

    Cervicogenic Headaches

Headaches originating from the upper neck — frequently misdiagnosed as migraines. We identify and treat the cervical source.

    Trapped Nerve (Cervical Radiculopathy)

Numbness, tingling, or weakness in the arm or hand caused by nerve compression in the neck. Gets worse without treatment.

    Neck Stiffness & Postural Pain

Chronic stiffness from desk work, driving, or poor posture. We fix the mechanical problem, not just the symptom.

    Whiplash & Cervical Trauma

Post-accident neck pain that hasn't resolved. We address the structural damage and restore full movement.

    Thoracic Outlet Syndrome

Compression of nerves between the neck and shoulder causing arm pain, numbness, and weakness.

    Our approach

We Find the Source — Not Just Where It Hurts

    1

    Thorough cervical assessment

We test every structure — discs, facet joints, nerves, muscles, and movement patterns — to identify the exact source of your pain and nerve symptoms.

    2

Targeted treatment for the root cause

Manual therapy, IDD Therapy for disc conditions, or nerve mobilisation — matched precisely to what's causing the problem.

    3

    Postural and ergonomic correction

We address the daily habits and work setup that created the problem — so it doesn't keep coming back.

    4

    Strength and stability restoration

Progressive exercises to rebuild cervical stability and protect the nerves — preventing recurrence long-term.

    Cervical disc problem?

IDD Therapy treats cervical disc injuries non-surgically — targeted decompression at the exact level causing your pain and nerve compression.

    Learn About IDD Therapy

"I'd had neck pain and headaches for 2 years. I'd tried three different physios, an osteopath, and was taking painkillers daily. BodyCare found a cervical disc problem in the first session. After treatment, the headaches stopped completely. I haven't taken a painkiller in 4 months."

Neck Pain & Trapped Nerve FAQs

What causes neck pain and trapped nerves?

Neck pain is most commonly caused by cervical disc problems, facet joint dysfunction, or nerve compression. Poor posture, desk work, driving, and stress accelerate the problem. The key is identifying exactly which structure is causing the pain — not just treating the area that hurts.

    Can neck pain cause headaches?

Yes. Cervicogenic headaches are one of the most common and most misdiagnosed conditions we see. They originate from dysfunction in the upper cervical spine and refer pain into the head, behind the eyes, and into the temples. They're frequently mistaken for migraines or tension headaches — and treated with painkillers that never work.

What does a trapped nerve in the neck feel like?

A trapped nerve (cervical radiculopathy) typically causes sharp or burning pain that radiates from the neck into the shoulder, arm, or hand. You may also experience tingling, numbness, or weakness in specific fingers. The symptoms often worsen when turning your head or looking up.

When should I worry about neck pain?

If your neck pain is accompanied by arm weakness, tingling in your fingers, severe headaches, difficulty gripping, or problems with balance or coordination, you should seek assessment promptly. These indicate nerve compression that gets worse without treatment.

Can a trapped nerve heal on its own?

Some mild nerve irritation settles with time, but true nerve compression from a disc bulge or bony narrowing rarely resolves without treatment. The longer a nerve is compressed, the more likely you'll develop lasting numbness, weakness, or chronic pain. Early treatment gives you the best outcome.
